when i first took this channel strip out of the box the first thing i said to myself was " very well built." im not a pro recording engineer and really that to me is the main reason why this channel strip is so awesome. when i finally recorded a vocalist in my home studio,(i used a peluso 2247 le and the gtqc), when i went to do quick mix on the songs for the vocalist to take with him i immediately noticed that i didnt have to anything to his voice. no eq, no compression - just a little compression on the outputs and his voice was right there. i knew then that this unit was something special. tone tone tone ! smooth, round, buttery tone. the compressor took a little getting used to - the eq is somewhat subtle but opens the unit up a bit without getting away from that smooth tone. not a surgical eq at all but in most cases you wont need very much at all. for vocals you really should buy this unit. this is top of the line pro gear and thats what it gives you - top of the line pro sound.
